 Specialty 05.01.04 – Ergonomics

Definition of Specialty

Ergonomics is a theory-and-practice discipline addressed to the issues of comprehensive multi-factor optimization of human work activities and their conditions in systems “man – work tool – work subject – work environment”.   The optimization process is based on system properties of work process components and system indices of work process effectiveness. The system is studied as the comprehensive functional whole.

The process of optimization of work activities involves generation of adequate premises for preservation of health and development of individual workers, material improvement of effectiveness and reliability of human work activities.

 Lines of Study

 1. Disclosure of laws of human work activities in systems “man – technology – environment” (MTE) and elaboration of appropriate rules for their management

2. Development of theory of human activities in MTE systems

3. Development of theory of optimum multi-factor synthesis in MTE systems

4. Development of methods for prediction of evolution, modeling, analysis, engineering and operation of MTE systems under specific application conditions

5. Development of methods and techniques for ergonomic management of MTE systems being in operation: improvement of ergonomic properties and qualities of hardware, production environment parameters and professional training methods.

Specialty 05.22.01 – Transport Systems

Definition of Specialty

Transport systems pertain to the science-and-technology branch engaged in the study of laws that define the conditions for rational management of transport services and transport processes, and extending to the problems of generation of transport system components and assurance of their efficient operation, development of transport system material and technical resources – traffic networks, transport, storing and cargo handling facilities.  They set the goals of the development of fundamental science and methods for assuring effective functioning of transport systems, rational management of passenger and cargo transportation.

Lines of Study

1. Identification and substantiation of factors of effectiveness of transport systems, elaboration of theory and methods for organization and management of transport system development

2. Development of theory and scientific bases of transport process and system management

3. Solution of comprehensive logistic management problems associated with transport, storage, cargo processing, order placement and stocks

4. Construction of national transport network, its interaction with transport systems in other countries

5. Development of scientific bases for generation, management and functioning of national network of international transport corridors and its integration in world and European transport system

6. Laws for generation of cargo traffic, its management and development of methods for transport process management, which are based on the principles of logistics, development of relevant systems of forwarding services

7. Laws for generation of passenger traffic, construction of transport passenger systems in cities, rural areas and regions

8. Problems of interaction between transport of different types in process of cargo and passenger carriage

9. Substantiation of processes of passenger and cargo traffic, their management and control in integrated systems and systems pertaining to transport of specific types: air, motor, water, railway and pipeline transport

10. Development of rational systems and substantiation of methods for large-scale system mechanization and automation of cargo handling operations in points of convergence of different-type transport facilities

11. Laws for generation of transport streams and development of traffic management systems and processes to control them

12. Transport safety problems
