Yaroslav V. Sanko was born in 1982. In 2001 he finished the Kupiansk Motor Transport Technical College, specialty “Traffic Management and Control”. In 2006 he graduated from the Kharkov National Motor and Road Construction University, Transport System Faculty, and was qualified as Research Master in specialty “Traffic Management and Control”. From 2008 to 2010 he was a postgraduate student at the Transport System and Logistics Department, Kharkov National Municipal Economy Academy. In 2010 he defended a thesis for the academic degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in specialty 05.22.01- “Transport Systems”.

From 2011 till now he has worked as Associate Professor at the Transport System and Logistics Department, Kharkov National Municipal Economy Academy.
Subject of Candidate’s Dissertation: “Long-term Prediction of Volumes of Tramcar Passenger Traffic with Consideration of Environmental Effects (“Gorelectrotrans” Kharkov Utility Company being set as example). The thesis is addressed to the development of scientific provisions as regards assessment of environmental effects on tramcar passenger traffic volumes under estimation. To this end, the thesis involved the solution of the following tasks:
– development of mathematical model to estimate probabilities for transition of parameters of components of urban passenger traffic transport system from the initial to the final state under closed conditions, with the consideration of environmental changes, and assessment of model adequacy;
– analysis of influence of functions of changes in environment and weighting factors of system components on tramcar passenger traffic volumes;
– development of prediction of changes in tramcar passenger traffic volumes.
Yaroslav V. Sanko gives lectures in the following disciplines: “Cargo Traffic”, “Analysis of Operations”, “Analysis of Operations in Transport Systems”, “Optimization of Logistic Solutions”.
He takes active part in international conferences, seminars and conferences for the professorial and teaching personnel of the Kharkov National Municipal Economy Academy, as well as in annual state-budget departmental work in field “System Facilities for Process Engineering, Management, Logistic and Ergonomic Maintenance of Urban Transport Processes” (state registration No. 0107U0000252). He guides student research work.
In 2008 and 2011 he was involved in the following commercial-contract work carried out by the Academy:
1) Science-and-Technology Work on Study of Passenger Flows in Melitopol’ Public Bus Routes (Contract No. 2321/08 dated June 20, 2008);
2) Research Work on Improvement of System of Route Passenger Traffic in Berdiansk (Contract No. 2473/11, dated March 09, 2011);
3) Research Work on Improvement of Network of Nikolayev City Passenger Transport (Contract No. 2481/11, dated July 15, 2011).
