Yurii Aleksandrovich Davidich was born in 1964. In 1985 he graduated from the Kharkov Motor and Road Construction Institute, Planning Engineer Faculty in specialty “Operation of Motor Transport”. In 1993 he was granted the academic degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in specialty 05.22.10 — Operation of Motor Transport. Subject of Candidate’s dissertation: “Development of Measures to Reduce Time of Waiting Passenger City Route Buses”. In 1996 he was assigned the academic title of Associate Professor.
Beginning from 2003 Yurii A. Davidich worked as Associate Professor at the Transport System and Logistics Department, Kharkov National Municipal Economy Academy. In 2007 he defended the Doctor’s thesis in specialties 05.22.01 — “Transport Systems”, 05.01.04 — “Ergonomics”. Subject of Doctor’s dissertation: “Theoretical Bases of Ergonomic Maintenance of Motor Transport Processes”. The thesis work was addressed to the following issues:
– development of a system of motor carriage processes, which allows to improve transport process management with the consideration of driver’s body condition;
– development of the method for scheduling components of the cargo and passenger carriage process, which allows to choose rational drivers’ work and rest conditions, under which their body condition does not exceed the maximum permissible level;
– development of an imitation model for traffic of special-purpose vehicles, which allows to assess the impact of parameters of route lines, transport facility and department on traffic time, choose the travel line, from among a range of alternative lines, which would be optimum in response; such a model can be used in the system of automated operative control by the special-service services;
– development of an imitation model of traffic of transport facilities in the street network, which allows to assess the influence of parameters of route line, transport facility and driver on traffic parameters, choose the travel line, from a number of alternative lines, which would be minimum as concerns travel time, or would provide for the minimum load on the driver’s body; this model can be used in the traffic automated control system;
– identification of the laws of transport stream distribution, which can be applied to the processes of traffic management and engineering of the urban street network.
Yurii A. Davidich is a lecturer in the following disciplines: “Effectiveness of Transport Processes”, “Forwarding Operations”, “Carriage Management and Processes”.
